To run a caseload of property litigation files. The primary role is to assess whether legal claims would be likely to succeed if they were to proceed to court. We conduct both money claims and claims for injunctive relief. The role requires analysis of complex legal issues. We deal with matters across each court track. The majority of our clients are referred to us by Legal Expenses Insurers although we take instructions from the clients directly and therefore excellent client care skills are essential. This is a good opportunity to litigate on matters from start to finish, including arranging mediations and trials when necessary. This role provides the opportunity to be part of a large and expanding team with lots of potential for career development.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Ensuring clear and accurate advice is given to clients
- To manage a property litigation caseload
- Dealing with clients on the phone and (where necessary) face to face
- Using our case management system to progress the files
- Billing and invoicing
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to lead by example, encouraging high standards and attention to detail
- To be able to effectively manage time
- Excellent communication skills must be able to deal with clients who are involved in highly charged situations
- IT literate
- Be able to work as part of a team

Experience required
Essential:
- Excellent legal knowledge
- Able to demonstrate can deal with challenging client issues and complicated legal issues
- Used to working to tight deadlines
Desirable:
- Civil Litigation experience is desirable including civil procedure knowledge
Education required
Candidates will need to have a firm legal understanding either through experience in a case handling role or educated to a minimum of degree standard in legal principles or equivalent (i.e. ILEX qualifications etc.)
