The Role
An experienced Employee Relations Advisor is needed to join the People Services team on a fixed‑term contract.
The role will provide commercial, people‑centred and resolution‑focused ER advice and support to line managers and employees, contributing to people vision projects and professional development.
Hybrid Working
Work from the Bristol office 2 days per week and remotely 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the ER Service and related people‑related activities across the company.
- Support line managers with specific ER queries to promote a resolution‑focused culture.
- Advise on a wide range of ER matters, including flexible working requests, performance management, grievances, restructures, disciplinary, health & wellbeing.
- Coordinate formal ER meetings and provide support to managers conducting investigations, hearings and appeals.
- Upskill managers to manage people issues confidently.
- Flag high‑risk processes such as gross misconduct, discrimination, whistleblowing.
- Maintain compliant records of informal/formal processes and decisions.
- Review and communicate ER policies, standards and compliance expectations.
- Keep abreast of employment law changes and implement necessary process updates.
- Ensure adherence to UK legislation, employment regulations, GDPR, ACAS codes and company policies.
- Collaborate with the wider People Services team on cross‑team matters.
- Participate in People Services projects as required.
Qualifications
- Experience at advisor level in an HR team.
- Sound understanding of employment law and its application.
- Ability to build relationships and understand needs and drivers of others.
- Resourceful and proactive.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and related systems.
