We are currently recruiting for a qualified senior Solicitor / CILEX with solid claimant clinical negligence and proven litigation experience to join our Clinical Negligence Group. Dealing solely with clinical negligence cases, you will be responsible for a caseload covering a variety of cases including complex, high value claims both pre and post issue. You will supervise and mentor a small team.
Hybrid Working: This role offers hybrid working and you can work from either our Bristol or Cardiff office. You will be required to work 2 days a week in the office and 3 days a week from home. You would therefore need the infrastructure in place to work from home and will be provided with a company laptop.
Responsibilities:
- Manage your own caseload of complex and technical clinical negligence claims;
- Supervise a team of excellent and motivated case handlers under the direction of the group leader and manage those you supervise;
- Undertake case planning and training of the team by utilising weekly risk assessment meetings and weekly individual 1-2-1 supervision sessions and ad hoc supervision/advice;
- Participate in team training and marketing activities;
- Maintain the group's case management procedures.
You will have proven experience of and enthusiasm for supervising and guiding a team.
Qualifications:
- You need to have good organisational skills and a pragmatic approach to managing claims, as well as proficient IT, communication and leadership skills.
- Strong written & verbal skills are a must have, together with the ability to manage tasks in an assertive, efficient and timely manner.
- You will have good working knowledge of CPR and the law relating to clinical negligence and it would be an advantage to have experience in dealing with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded and conditional fee agreement arrangements.
- A strong track record of litigation experience is essential.
- You must be enthusiastic and motivated to work within clinical negligence.
