We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate solicitor to join our busy Pursuer Injury Department located in our Edinburgh city centre office. The successful candidate will join our existing friendly and dynamic team of solicitors and paralegals, managing their own caseload of various insurance and complex litigation matters. They will also play a key role in developing strategy and shaping the future of the team. The role is based in our Edinburgh office with a flexible working arrangement, typically working 2 days in the office and 3 days remotely. Candidates should have the necessary infrastructure to work from home. A company laptop will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of litigated and non-litigated files, demonstrating strategic analysis and providing practical advice.
  • Delivering excellent client care and guiding clients throughout their claims.
  • Drafting legal documents for cases including Simple Procedure, Summary, Ordinary Cause, and Court of Session actions.
  • Advising clients on legal implications, taking statements, gathering and assessing evidence, coordinating investigations, instructing experts and counsel, and conducting advocacy in sheriff court hearings.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with service standards, supporting junior staff, and assisting with training.
  • Contributing to business development, networking, and strategic growth initiatives.

Ideal candidates will have experience handling RTA/Public & Occupier Liability injury claims from initial claim to proof, with strong legal research and analysis skills. Experience in Clinical Negligence is a plus but not required. The candidate should have solid Court/Advocacy experience in pursuer PI litigation. We seek a team player with keen attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to meet deadlines within service standards. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. A genuine interest in personal injury work and compassionate client communication are important. Candidates should be committed to personal responsibility, ongoing learning, and keeping their legal knowledge current.
