Purpose: An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced case handler with significant Employment knowledge based in either our Bristol, Leeds or Cardiff offices. There is an experienced team of handlers already in place dealing with a wide range of worksources including LEIs, liability insurers, businesses, consumers and institutions covering both claimant and respondent work. The successful candidate will report directly to the Group Leader and Partner of the employment team, and will be expected to play a full and active part in all that the Division does.
Hybrid working: This role would be based in either our Bristol, Leeds or Cardiff office and we offer a blend of both office and home working.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for providing strategic, technical and practical guidance within your area of expertise and will build a strong relationship with the experts that already exist within the group.
- You will set an example of best practice in the conduct of insurance litigation.
- Have an excellent grasp of employment law including technical matters.
- Build rapport with clients and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide technical assistance and support to colleagues within the team.
Skills/Competencies required:
- Essential: Fully qualified Solicitor, CILEX lawyer or equivalent; A passion for employment law and for providing commercial and practical solutions;
- Experience required: Extensive experience of Employment work, Experience of dealing with both lay and insurer clients, Experience of liaising with defendant insurer claims handlers, An ability to deal with all aspects of litigation, The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Salary: from £50,000 FTE dependent on experience.
