An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Business Legal Services in Bristol to provide legal support to the Division through paralegal and administrative duties. Successful candidates would then start sponsored training contracts in September 2027.
Based in our Bristol office, you’ll enjoy a blend of office and home working while gaining hands-on experience to develop your expertise in commercial property law or corporate commercial law, depending upon your preferred area.
This is an exciting opportunity which will allow you to move towards a career as a commercial property or corporate commercial solicitor in an environment that provides support, training and practical work experience.
As a trainee solicitor you will assist qualified members of the team with their matters, using our in-house case management system. As you learn and gain experience you will be allocated your own matters and clients
You will be required to confidently communicate with commercial clients and various third-party professionals, by telephone, written correspondence and in meetings, and will learn to progress each matter through the necessary stages.
Through mentoring and training you will develop your confidence in understanding the commercial property/corporate commercial lifecycles, and will, in due course, be relied upon to provide effective legal advice to commercial clients. The training you receive and the knowledge you will acquire working with highly experienced and specialist fee earners will ensure you have a strong grounding in these commercial and specialist areas of law at the point of qualification.
This opportunity allows you to specialise and pursue a career in the commercial property/corporate commercial sector.
The salary will be at least the Law Society’s recommended minimum salary outside of London.
Competencies/skills required:
- Previous experience is not necessary, but you must be enthusiastic and motivated to develop a career within commercial property or corporate law
- A willingness to learn;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Good team player;
- Organised and able to prioritise;
- Computer literate;
- In addition, you will be a keen learner, with the ability to balance the challenge of combining work and studying;
- A willingness to attend networking events and build relationships with other commercial professionals
Education level required:
- You will hold at least 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above;
- Plus 3 A Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above.
- Will hold a legal degree or equivalent with a passion for commercial property
- To be eligible for a training contract you will need to have completed or be currently studying towards your LPC to be considered.
Working Hours:
You will work 7 hours a day Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 6pm. The hours will either be 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10-6pm.
Training Contract:
As a sponsored trainee you will remain in Business Legal Services for the duration of your training contract, with an additional seat added if required.
The training contract would commence from September 2027 and will last for up to 2 years.
