We are looking for a Personal Injury Solicitor, CILEx or equivalent with significant experience of handling catastrophic injury claims to join our Serious and Catastrophic Injury team based in Bristol. The role will involve managing your own caseload of claimant multi-track personal injury files, as well supervising other members of staff and directing junior fee earners who will be assisting you with your case load. It is imperative that you have handled high value actions and worked with clients who have suffered serious brain injuries, spinal injuries, polytrauma, pain disorders and complex psychiatric disorders. Experience dealing with fatal injury claims would be advantageous but not essential. A combination of office and home working will be required. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Bristol office 2 days a week. On the days that you are not working in the Bristol office, you will be working from home.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and effectively manage your own caseload of multi-track personal injury claims providing excellent legal advice.
- Work collaboratively with others in the team, provide supervision and training and be willing to develop junior members of the team.
- Ensure that you handle cases following company procedures, proactively, within SLAs and to the required standard.
- Make informed decisions with regards to quantum/liability and assist those within your team to do the same.
- Communicate effectively with individuals and insurer clients.
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
- Attend networking events and business development.
- Deal with administration and any other duties as required.
Experience:
The successful candidate must have previous experience of running their own caseload. They must also have a proven ability to deal with all aspects of litigation. You must be computer literate and able to undertake your own typing.
Key skills/competencies:
The successful applicant will display excellent communication and organisation skills with an ability to always work in line with deadlines. You should have a common-sense approach to work, showing enthusiasm and initiative as a team player, with an ability to manage expectations from both internal and external clients.
