At Lyons Davidson and File Dynamics our vision is to become the most people centered employer in the legal industry and we are looking for a People Business Partner to join the team as a key player in achieving this vision. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, you will partner 3 of our key Divisions to create and deliver a people plans which align to the needs of the business and which takes us a step closer to achieving our vision. This is a fixed term contract from August 2026 to June 2027 to cover a period of maternity leave within the team.

We are looking for people with enthusiasm, an interest (or experience) in cultural change and commercial awareness. You will be part of a wider People Services team made up of Talent Acquisition and Resourcing, Learning and Development, People Operations, Employee Relations and Business Partnering and will work in a large (500 plus employees) law firm based in Bristol.

Key responsibilities
  • Understand the business model of the groups and divisions you serve/partner with, particularly how the business operates, how it creates value, its strategic drivers and its purpose.
  • Continually support and upskill managers to empower and enable colleagues to act within their delegated authority.
  • Support managers to make best use of the full range of People Team services by signposting them to appropriate colleagues, with the aim of providing a ‘joined-up’ and seamless approach.
  • Support People Team colleagues by facilitating lessons learned, collating feedback and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Identify, create and implement people plans that support the company to achieve its objectives by building capability across specific groups and divisions.
  • Lead people projects designed to achieve our People Vision.
  • Personally develop and facilitate workshops/training and updates for managers and relevant colleagues.
Essential experience and skills
  • Experience of working at Advisor level in an HR team.
  • Ability to build relationships by understanding the needs and drivers of others.
  • Detailed understanding of the employee life cycle and employee experience.
  • Must be resourceful and proactive.
  • Microsoft Office and related tools.
