We are looking for a Solicitor or FCILEx to join the Employment team based in our Bristol or Leeds office. The purpose of the role is to run a caseload of legal expense insurer files as well as assisting with non‑contentious work from time to time. There may be scope for supervision of junior case handlers. A keen interest in employment law is essential. The work is challenging but rewarding and the team places a high value on mutual support and co‑operation. This role would be based in either our Bristol or Leeds office and has the option of hybrid working or fully remote.

What you'll do
- Advising clients on potential Employment Tribunal claims
- Running a caseload of Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting pleadings, drafting witness statements, negotiating settlements and advising on settlement agreements, and instructing counsel or advocates as necessary
- Complying with insurer service level agreements
- Supporting the employment team with non‑contentious work, including provision of contractual documentation, handbooks and other employment documentation, together with provision of reactive and proactive employment advice to commercial clients, including telephone advice
- Participating in marketing initiatives, including writing updates on employment law and providing training sessions to clients
- Ensuring accurate advice is given to clients
- Using our case management system to progress files
- Billing and invoicing
What skills you'll have
- Fully qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx or with comparable experience and a desire to obtain qualification
- A passion for employment law and for providing commercial and practical solutions
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Ability to take full responsibility for cases and strategy (subject to supervisory and group support)
- The ability to work as part of a team
- The ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
