We are seeking to recruit a Production Planner for our facility in Milton Keynes.
The Milton Keynes plant produces polypropylene polymeric compounds to the highest safety and quality standards for the automotive industry, has a friendly and inclusive team and has a track record of 44 years of production.
Basic Function
Reporting to the Logistics Operations Manager, this position provides for the optimisation of plant production efficiencies and customer service, through effective machine scheduling, production order and materials requirements planning in compliance with sales / customer order requirements
Roles & Responsibilities
- Planning/scheduling of sales orders on to relevant production line
- Advise and liaise with customer service representative and account managers regarding manufacturing and delivery dates for all sales orders
- Creation and issue of process/production orders and production schedule
- Liaise with and advise shift leaders, Operations manager and Maintenance manager on order and machine running priority
- Monitor production output and review production schedule daily, amending plan where necessary in line with customer service requirements
- For new products arrange an AQP meeting with Quality manager for discussion
- Plan production on a rolling 3 month basis to generate raw material requisitions and liaise with Asset Management when needed
- Operate materials requirements planning system to generate raw material purchase requisitions
- Maintain finished goods levels within agreed limits
- Maintain customer safety stocks at agreed levels
- Keep planning/loading lines according to the agreed line capacities and efficiencies
- Maintain BOMs and master recipes up to date when required
- Monitor and implement usage of slow moving, off-spec materials and part bins/bags
- Principle key user and trainer, SAP, Production Planning
- Must work in compliance with the requirements of the site management systems (IATF16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001).
- Willingness to support in other areas as required by business needs
Education
Min. Qualifications
Degree in business studies or similar business related qualification
Work Experience
Minimum 3 years work experience in a manufacturing and materials planning role, preferably within chemical / polyolefins manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum three years’ experience in customer service environment
