We are seeking to recruit a Delegated Buyer at our Crumlin Site.
Our Crumlin site is located approximately 15 miles from the City of Newport in South Wales. The site began operations in 1974, and today produces polypropylene resins used for a wide variety of products. We are one of the world\’s largest producers of polymers and a leader in polyolefin technologies, we develop, manufacture and market high-quality and innovative products for applications ranging from sustainable transportation and food safety to clean water and quality healthcare.

Reporting to the Logistics Operations Manager, this position provides for the joint supervision of all local site supply administration and inbound supply chain activities.
Primary function is to ensure that all raw materials, goods and services are procured in a timely and cost effective manner in order to ensure continuity of production through controlled raw materials supply and according to the appropriate specifications and European Procedures for goods and services supply.
A Day In The Life
- Procurement of / Call off under contract : Raw materials feedstocks, Packaging and Services for the Logistics Department etc.
- Process purchase order creation generated by the alert monitor in SAP system for inventory items.
- Assist in the production of monthly forecast updates for captive raw material requirements, 3 month rolling, and issue to central procurement planning by given deadlines and apply similar forecast process for third party suppliers.
- Forecast planning for Force Majeure, allocation and known RM shortages.
- Maintain delivery dates in Transaction ME2N for system accuracy.
- Maintain Packaging Stock Safety Stock and Purchases.
- New Raw / CCA material requests via the DQP tool.
- Manage invoice queries through the work flow/web cycles.
- Produce purchasing reports / statistics as required.
- Receive, monitor and distribute as appropriate enquiries from suppliers and internal personnel.
- Liaise with suppliers on day to day matters.
- Purchase order amendments where necessary. E.G when received quantity differs to ordered quantity.
- Management of onsite RM stock levels.
A Day in the Life of Contd
- Management of RM delays / Booking in differences, Liaising with production Planners.
- Day to day liaison with local plant Production Planners and Goods Inwards Team Supervisor/shipping coordinators. Day to Day communication with production planners to support Production plan/Satisfying customer orders.
- Requesting price amendments for open purchase orders when pricing differs within the Outline agreement.
- Maintain updated Departmental Quality Procedures in respect of raw materials procurement, receipt, issue and traceability.
- Request guidance from central procurement when there are multiple alternatives that are not part of the Quarterly communications.
- Follow any reasonable instruction given by the Logistics Operations Manager.

Education:
- Educated to High School standard.
Work Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer service operational environment , preferably within chemical/polymers manufacturing or a warehousing/logistics environment. Vocational qualification in an appropriate field of expertise preferred.
- Skills:
- Good communication skills.
- Good administrative skills.
- Computer literate, SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good numeracy.
- Ability to work to deadlines in a busy environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- High aptitude for attention to detail.
Languages
Must be fluent in written and verbal English.

- Participation in the Company’s discretionary short-term incentive (bonus) programme. Currently, the full-year target bonus for this position is 6% of base salary
