K. and Irish distributor for Ortlieb luggage, Industry Nine components, Arundel accessories, Tubus racks, Hydrapak hydration and Uvex helmets and eyewear.
As Cycle is one of four divisions within the Company, our extensive portfolio also includes quality outdoor accessory brands, making us a unique distributor to many cycle businesses throughout the UK.
Our company aim is to provide equipment and expertise to ‘venture further’ to the Cycle, Outdoor, Watersports, Work at Height and Rescue industries.
We pride ourselves on being a supplier of quality products in the cycling market, enabling riders to push their boundaries and extend their horizons, whether this is on their daily commute, bikepacking or racing an enduro on the weekend.
In addition to distribution, we manufacture our own Lyon branded products, provide technical training for the Work at Height and Rescue industries and are the home of the UK Petzl Agency.

The Role
To continue the growth and diversification within our Cycle division, we are seeking to appoint a Southern Cycle Sales Representative to cover the South of the UK.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and organised individual to further enhance the service we provide to our customers and broader cycling community within this area.
A strong passion for cycling and knowledge of our products would be highly advantageous.
The job is perfectly suited to someone from a cycle sales background, who is comfortable meeting with customers and end consumers, as well as carrying out role specific administrative functions.
As a Cycle Representative at Lyon, the successful candidate will work within the Sales and Marketing team to sell and promote us and our brands to both new and existing cycle customers and the cycling community.
Main duties within this role
- Working alongside the Cycle Market Manager and team to meet and exceed sales objectives, grow revenue and optimise profitability in line with department and brands strategies
- Service and develop existing accounts via face to face, telephone, online meetings and email contact.
- Actively seek out and follow up on new business opportunities, developing strong, ongoing business relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Lead presentations and training on our products via a range of mediums to key stakeholders
- Coordinate with colleagues and other departments to optimise the sales and marketing effort
- Proactively promote Lyon Cycle and our portfolio of brands and products at national and international trade shows, product launches, events and other sales initiatives, including event organisation.
- Participate in regular sales meetings, at our Head Office in Tebay, or a pre-agreed location
- Ensure calendars, customer reports and information are kept up to date through use of the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
- Create a range of reports relating to territory sales
- Promote Lyon Cycle and our portfolio to key press contacts, while developing and maintaining relationships, in line with department strategies
- Effective diary planning to ensure time efficiency
- A considerable amount of self-managed travelling, predominantly driving, with overnight stays whilst on the road as required to ensure best use of time and fuel
- Supplier meeting participation
- Content creation to enhance the digital presence of our business and brands
- Monitoring of portfolio product and market trends including competitor products
- Ensure samples are well maintained and accounted for
We are looking for someone with the following criteria
- Have a passion for cycling and a good understanding of how our products fit into the market
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proven track record of sales, ideally within the cycle industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills and confident communication with a range of people
- Organised and self-motivated
- Comfortable using a range of software including Microsoft 365 packages
- Experience of using a customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Experience monitoring and reporting of sales and targets
- A strong interest in the cycle industry and community
- Be a confident user of social media, e. g. Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok and Twitter, to increase the reach of our brands and events
- Hold a current full car driving licence (preferably clean) and a current passport
- The successful candidate will be provided with a company vehicle, computer, tablet and mobile phone.
