Lynx Training Academy provides NHS-approved Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training in Learning Disability and Autism throughout South Yorkshire. As one of the few regionally approved providers, we deliver both Tier 1 and Tier 2 training aligned with national standards. Our co‑produced and co‑delivered sessions, created with people who have lived experience, ensure compliance while being impactful and practical for professionals. We collaborate with NHS services, GP practices, care homes, supported living providers, local authorities, and independent healthcare organisations. Our mission is to promote clear understanding, inclusive practices, and meaningful change to improve outcomes for individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
This is a full‑time on‑site role located in Yorkshire, South Carolina (SC). The successful candidate will provide legal advice and representation on adult social care matters, including safeguarding, mental capacity, and related matters. Key tasks include:
- Interpreting legislation
- Drafting legal documents
- Attending court hearings
- Liaising with stakeholders such as social workers and other professionals to ensure compliance with regulations
- Contributing to policy development
- Providing training to staff on legal updates and social care processes
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in Adult Social Care law, including mental capacity and safeguarding procedures
- Ability to draft, review, and interpret legal documents and legislation accurately
- Proven skills in client representation in court and legal advocacy
- Experience providing training and policy guidance on legal topics related to social care
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders
- Current qualification to practice as a lawyer in relevant jurisdiction
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to handle complex legal issues effectively
- Experience in working with or knowledge of public sector organisations, including NHS and local authorities, is preferred
