Job Type: Full Time | Permanent

The candidate will be responsible for producing competitive and technically robust quotations and proposals for renewable energy projects. The role will involve close collaboration with sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure solutions are commercially viable, compliant, and aligned with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for domestic and commercial renewable energy projects
  • Design solar PV systems and produce system layouts, string designs, and generation forecasts
  • Assist with battery storage and EV charging integration designs
  • Review client specifications, tender documentation, and project requirements
  • Prepare technical submissions and tender responses
  • Support customers, installers, and internal teams with technical queries
  • Assist with troubleshooting solar PV, battery storage, and inverter systems
  • Liaise with manufacturers regarding technical support and warranty matters
  • Support DNO applications, including G98 and G99 submissions
  • Assist with commissioning documentation and project handover packs
  • Ensure all designs comply with current regulations, industry standards, and best practices
  • Work closely with operational and commercial teams to support successful project delivery
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, legislation, and emerging technologies

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the solar PV or wider renewable energy sector and a strong understanding of renewable system design and estimating.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an Estimator, Technical Estimator, Solar Designer, Solar Installation Engineer or similar
  • Strong understanding of solar PV system design principles
  • Knowledge of design software such as EasyPV, OpenSolar, or similar
  • Knowledge of G98/G99 regulations, battery storage systems, inverters, and EV charging integration
  • Understanding of BS 7671 requirements
