My client is a defence and security manufacturer that designs, makes and integrates precision electro-optical and support equipment such as surveillance, target acquisition systems and rugged mounts for military and aerospace customers worldwide. They are looking to grow the team with a Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Take the engineering lead for multidisciplinary projects requiring optical, Electro-Optical or Laser (LRF, Target Designation) capabilities.
- Capture stakeholder requirements.
- Full product life cycle in the product design phase, including manufacturing, safety, reliability, availability, maintainability and disposal.
- Identify and manage interfaces.
- Develop system and sub-system requirements in order to define functions that must be performed.
- Evaluate and down-select system solutions.
- Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities.
- Technical content of bid and proposal preparation.
- Participating in customer meetings.
- Report generation.
- Verification and validation planning and testing.
Requirements:
- Experience in similar systems engineering roles.
- Ideally have experience across full product life cycle.
- Optronics background/experience.
Details:
- Hybrid role based in Kent.
- Salary £60,000 - £75,000.
- Company profit share.
- 9 day fortnight (every second Friday off).
