The successful Prototype Wire Person will focus on supporting the foundations between Engineering and Production, maintaining the high standard of quality, and ensuring the flow of work through Production, with the ability to write SOPS if required. Your dedication and expertise will be the driving force behind our success.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to solder, crimp, undertake mechanical assemblies and cable assemblies, all to be undertaken against the recognised company standards as laid down in IPC-A-610C.
  • Assemble mechanical and electromechanical components from engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Carry out prototype wiring, including crimping, soldering, cable routing, and harness assembly.
  • Build and modify prototypes in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Perform rework and design changes as required during development stages.
  • Conduct basic inspection and testing.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, including IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to resolve build and design issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Work in accordance with Job Cards, Production/Development drawings, Test plans, Technical Instructions and Process documents.
