Senior Systems Engineer – Mission-Critical RF Systems
£60,000 – £65,000 Benefits | Northamptonshire | Hybrid Working
About the Role
Join a leading technology company developing cutting-edge, mission-critical RF systems for defense and security applications. We're seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-end systems across three core capability areas:
- Secure Tactical Datalinks for critical communications
- Spectrum Monitoring Systems for RF analysis and management
- Battlespace Technologies including COMINT, HF Direction Finding, C-UAS, and C-RCIED systems
This is a technically hands-on yet strategically involved position working across the full product lifecycle from bids to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Architecture & Strategy:
- Systems architecture definition and high-level design
- Requirements capture, analysis, and management
- Translate customer requirements into technical solutions
- Interface definition and system performance analysis
Technical Leadership:
- Lead and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Maintain technical vision across complex projects
- Support bid processes and customer technical discussions
- Cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
Product Development:
- Work across full development lifecycle
- System verification and validation activities
- Technical documentation and specification development
- Design reviews and technical risk management
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years systems engineering experience (7+ preferred)
- Strong background in systems architecture and requirements capture
- Experience with full development lifecycle management
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into system architecture
- Technical leadership of multidisciplinary teams
- Some knowledge of RF systems essential
- British citizenship or eligible for UK security clearance (SC)
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience
What We Offer
- Salary: £60,000 – £65,000
- Annual Bonus: 3-6% of salary
- Hybrid Working: 3 days onsite in Northamptonshire
