We're recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke, high-speed special purpose machinery to customers worldwide. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong experience in PLC-based control systems (Siemens S7 and/or Rockwell ControlLogix) who enjoys taking ownership of complex projects from concept through to installation.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for electrical and pneumatic design, validating systems to current safety standards, supporting CE certification, and preparing FAT and as-built documentation.
- You'll collaborate across departments, engage directly with customers, and support installations and upgrade projects globally (4-5 trips per year, approx. one week at a time).
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience designing electrical control systems for special purpose machinery
- Strong knowledge of safety control systems and validation
- AutoCAD Electrical experience
- BOM compilation and MRP uploads
- Understanding of machinery safety standards
- Confident liaising with end users to confirm specifications
Desirable:
- SIL-rated safety circuit design & risk assessments
- Motion/servo control system experience
