LYNX are supporting a bespoke machine builder in the South East, to bring on an Automation Engineer, to assist with programming and commissioning machines at their workshop and on client sites. This role requires a strong understanding of:
- Electrical drawings
- Control panel specification/design
- PLC programming
- Touchscreens and controls
- Vision and SCADA systems
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and/or explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable.
Essential:
- Formal Electrical Engineering Qualification (e.g. apprenticeship)
Responsibilities:
- Designing PLC based electrical control systems from design specifications.
- Programming PLC, touchscreen and safety configurable relay systems.
- Configuring remote I/O, servo motor and inverter drives.
- Integrating ancillary equipment into the production lines such as vision systems etc.
- Fault finding electrical control systems, PLC, and hardwired systems.
- Commissioning, support, and service work at customers’ sites.
A certain amount of travel is required to support their worldwide customer base. Training will be provided to familiarise yourself with the specialist machinery and equipment they supply. Pension scheme and other generous benefits.
