The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
You will perform mechanical inspection, document inspection results, input data into quality database, raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.) in line with company directives (QMS) and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects and approves incoming/outgoing materials/products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting to Head of Inspection/QA any non-conforming materials/products.
- Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/operator.
- Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste, and inputs data into quality database.
- Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements, and reporting to QA any faulty or out of calibration equipment.
- Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
- Carry out such other reasonable duties within the business from time to time.
- Adhere to the company’s health and safety requirements and complete training as required.
Skills and Qualifications/Experience:
- A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a similar role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of quality control/inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometers, verniers, DTIs, height gauges, shadowgraphs, CMM, etc.) (required).
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and GD&T (required).
- RCCA knowledge (including 8D methodology).
- Good math and technical skills (required).
- Good knowledge of MS Office (preferred).
- General knowledge of gear metrology (preferred).
- FAIR/PPAP knowledge (preferred).
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment/under pressure (required).
