Main Purpose
To set and operate CNC machinery (including Mazak), preparing materials and tooling for production. You will work from engineering drawings to produce high-precision components for the aerospace and defence industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate Mazak CNC turn/mill machines
- Change machine setups efficiently between jobs
- Read and understand CNC programs
- Use measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, etc.) to inspect parts
- Carry out in-process checks to ensure parts meet drawings and specifications
- Meet production targets while maintaining high quality standards
- Handle basic technical queries when required
- Support team members and assist with general duties as needed
- Follow company quality procedures and processes
- Report issues promptly to the Manager or Supervisor
- Follow all health and safety requirements and complete required training
- Maintain good timekeeping and punctuality
Skills & Experience
- Engineering qualification (or similar)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role/industry
- Ability to use a range of measuring equipment
- Good maths and technical skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Proactive, reliable, and a strong team player
- Quick to learn and adaptable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work efficiently and meet deadlines
