JOB - Kits Part Assembler
LOCATION - Aldershot, Hampshire
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - Competitive, dependent on experience
My client is an established engineering and manufacturing business supplying high-quality components to customers across a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a reliable and hands-on Kits Part Assembler to join their production team at their Aldershot facility.
Working within the Finishing Shop, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in an engineering, manufacturing or production environment to work with manufactured components, carrying out assembly, inspection, deburring and hand finishing to high-quality standards.
The Kits Part Assembler will ideally have:
- Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing or production environment
- Good mechanical and technical understanding
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions
- Experience using hand tools, assembly equipment or finishing machinery
- Good practical skills, dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience carrying out basic quality inspections would be advantageous
- Good problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to accurately select and assemble components and kits
- A safety-conscious and positive approach to work
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a willingness to learn
The Kits Part Assembler role will involve:
- Assembling kits and components accurately in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions.
- Carrying out deburring and hand finishing of manufactured components to the required quality standards.
- Inspecting components for burrs, sharp edges, surface defects or damage before they progress to the next stage of production.
- Selecting the correct components, quantities and materials for each job.
- Using hand tools, assembly equipment and finishing machinery safely and effectively.
- Completing work in line with production schedules, priorities and required delivery dates.
- Carrying out basic quality checks and reporting defects or non-conformances to the relevant Supervisor or Manager.
- Completing production paperwork and maintaining accurate job and component traceability.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Following all company Health & Safety, Quality and PPE procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency.
