A specialist engineering organisation is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of complex automated test and engineering system projects across a range of high-tech industries including aerospace, defence, automotive, medical devices and electronics manufacturing. This role would suit someone with a background in automated test systems, electronics manufacturing test, or broader engineering-led project delivery who is confident managing technical stakeholders and coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
You will take ownership of projects from handover through to delivery, ensuring successful execution across software and hardware production disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple concurrent engineering and test system projects
- Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout delivery
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules and reporting
- Coordinate activities across software, hardware, mechanical and production teams
- Track project progress, budgets, risks and resources
- Manage change control and scope alignment with stakeholders
- Support engineering handovers from sales/quotation into delivery
- Facilitate clear communication across internal and external teams
- Lead project reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure delivery aligns with quality, safety and procedural standards
- Automated test or validation systems
- Electronics manufacturing test environments (FCT / ICT)
- Test software environments (e.g. Lab-based automation tools)
- PXI or modular instrumentation systems
- Measurement and instrumentation equipment
- Test fixture or tooling development
- Integration of electrical/electronic hardware systems
- Understanding of engineering project lifecycle delivery
- Essential: Strong project management experience in a technical/engineering environment
- Background in electronics, test engineering, or automated test equipment
- Excellent communication skills with customer-facing experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
