Electronics Team Lead

Location: North Devon (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)

Salary: Up to £68,000 + bonus

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electronics Team Lead to join a highly innovative engineering organisation delivering advanced technology solutions for safety-critical and defence-related applications. You will lead the design and development of electrical and electronic systems across the full product lifecycle while mentoring engineers, driving technical excellence, and ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical and electronic design activities from concept through to production and in-service support
  • Provide technical expertise in analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, and electro-mechanical systems
  • Ensure projects are delivered to agreed cost, quality, and schedule targets
  • Support manufacturing, installation, testing, and product support activities
  • Mentor and develop engineers through technical reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to engineering standards, technical proposals, bids, and project estimates
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with verification and validation processes, industry standards, and customer requirements
  • Undertake line management responsibilities, including resource planning, performance management, and recruitment support
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of new engineering processes
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in analogue and digital electronic design
  • PCB design experience, ideally using Altium Designer
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and full product lifecycle development
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams
  • Understanding of verification & validation (V&V), configuration management, and relevant industry standards
  • Experience supporting bids, proposals, and engineering cost estimations
  • A continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing new processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
