Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Planning Officer - Enforcement to join a busy Local Authority team in Walsall on a hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled planning professional with strong enforcement experience to play a key role in managing complex planning enforcement matters and supporting the wider planning service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement complaints and breaches
- Prepare and serve enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, and related legal documentation
- Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement action
- Liaise with residents, developers, councillors, solicitors, and external agencies
- Provide professional planning advice and recommendations
- Represent the Council at appeals, hearings, and public inquiries where required
- Support junior officers and contribute to service improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Degree in Planning or a related field
- Previous experience working within Planning Enforcement in a Local Authority setting
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and enforcement procedures
- Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills
