Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Planning Officer - Enforcement to join a busy Local Authority team in Walsall on a hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled planning professional with strong enforcement experience to play a key role in managing complex planning enforcement matters and supporting the wider planning service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and manage a varied caseload of planning enforcement complaints and breaches
  • Prepare and serve enforcement notices, breach of condition notices, and related legal documentation
  • Conduct site visits and gather evidence to support enforcement action
  • Liaise with residents, developers, councillors, solicitors, and external agencies
  • Provide professional planning advice and recommendations
  • Represent the Council at appeals, hearings, and public inquiries where required
  • Support junior officers and contribute to service improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Degree in Planning or a related field
  • Previous experience working within Planning Enforcement in a Local Authority setting
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and enforcement procedures
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads independently
  • Excellent communication and report-writing skills
