LYNX Employment is recruiting four Markets Operatives to support markets across Walsall, Bloxwich and Willenhall .
This is a hands-on, outdoor role for reliable individuals who enjoy physical work and take pride in keeping public spaces clean, safe and welcoming. Contract and working hours
Temporary contract with potential to extend.
Part-time, 18 hours per week , working to a weekly rota.
Early morning starts, typically between 4am and 6am, with split shifts required.
Reliable transport for early starts is essential.
Availability required across Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Shift times vary according to operational requirements and will be confirmed through the rota.
Your duties will include:
Setting up, dismantling and safely storing market stalls. Moving and positioning bins and supporting waste collection. Litter picking and cleaning stalls, bins, storage areas and communal spaces. Carrying out basic weeding and general site upkeep. Spreading grit and rock salt during icy weather. Assisting traders and members of the public. Reporting safety concerns and operational issues to the management team. What you'll need:
Flexibility and reliability to attend early morning shifts starting from 4am. Experience of manual, physical work, ideally outdoors. Ability to work outside in all weather conditions. A full UK driving licence, your own vehicle and business-use motor insurance for travel between sites. Awareness of safe manual handling and health and safety. Confidence using basic hand tools and equipment. Good communication and customer service skills. The ability to work independently and within a small team.
