We are currently recruiting for an experienced Developing Highways Manager to support a busy local authority highways and planning team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a highways professional with strong experience in development control, planning applications, and highway development management within a local authority environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to planning applications on behalf of the Local Highway Authority and supporting the delivery of highway development and infrastructure improvements across the county.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing professional highways and development control advice on planning applications
  • Reviewing and assessing new developments and highway impacts
  • Supporting S38, S278 and S106 agreements
  • Representing the Highway Authority at planning committees, inquiries and meetings
  • Liaising with developers, consultants, councillors and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring development sites and ensuring compliance with highway requirements
  • Supporting highway asset management and economic growth strategies
  • Managing highways development-related budgets and reporting on risk and programme delivery
