Sheffield (Hybrid Working) 8-Month Contract
We are currently seeking an experienced Governance Lawyer to provide short-term corporate governance support covering a period of staff absence. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong governance expertise to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting governance frameworks, advising on constitutional and administrative matters, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Advising on the legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance, including area committees
- Providing guidance on the organisations Constitution, including contributing to its review and development
- Drafting, reviewing, and advising on policy documents and governance protocols
- Advising on the scheme of delegations and requirements for reports to decision-makers
- Providing expert advice on constitutional and administrative law
- Attending and supporting meetings as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in governance within a public sector.
