We are seeking an experienced Senior Planning Officer to support the delivery of planning policy and projects. This role involves leading policy workstreams, managing evidence, and contributing to the development, consultation, and implementation of planning policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead/support planning policy projects and evidence base work
- Research, draft, and develop planning policy and guidance
- Support local plan delivery and policy implementation
- Prepare reports, briefings, and consultation materials
- Engage with stakeholders and support community planning
- Analyse data and maintain monitoring systems
- Provide policy input on complex applications
- Prepare appeal statements and attend hearings
About You
Essential:
- Relevant degree (RTPI eligible)
- RTPI Licentiate (or equivalent)
- Planning policy or development management experience
- Strong understanding of the English planning system
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to travel regularly for site visits
