Location: Rugby Pay: Β£14.82 per hour PAYE Hours: Average 40 hours per week Contract: Temporary expected to run until the end of March 2027 Shift Pattern: 6-week rolling rota, covering 7 days a week between 8:00am and 10:00pm DBS: Basic DBS required

We are recruiting for a Community Warden to provide a highly visible presence across Rugby town centre and the wider borough, helping to keep the area safe, clean and welcoming.
This is a varied, public-facing role combining community engagement, patrols and enforcement. You'll spend much of your working day out and about, speaking with residents and businesses, responding to issues and taking appropriate action when required.

## The Role

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out visible patrols on foot and by vehicle
  • Providing a reassuring and recognisable presence within the community
  • Responding to reports of anti-social behaviour and environmental issues
  • Engaging with members of the public and encouraging appropriate behaviour
  • Issuing Fixed Penalty Notices and Penalty Charge Notices where appropriate
  • Dealing with issues including littering, fly-tipping, parking contraventions and dog control
  • Gathering information and evidence relating to environmental crime
  • Responding to community concerns and reported incidents
  • Identifying and reporting problems within the local environment
  • Maintaining accurate records of incidents and enforcement activity
  • Preparing reports and statements where required
  • Working alongside other council services and partner organisations
  • Dealing confidently and professionally with difficult or confrontational situations
