We're recruiting for an experienced Rough Sleeper Support Worker to join a dedicated homelessness outreach team in Walsall. This rewarding role involves supporting vulnerable adults, rough sleepers, former offenders and individuals with complex needs to access accommodation, develop life skills and achieve independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach across Walsall to engage rough sleepers and respond to referrals.
- Complete risk and needs assessments and develop support plans.
- Support clients to secure and sustain accommodation.
- Deliver one-to-one and group-based life skills support.
- Encourage engagement with education, employment and support services.
- Assist with benefits, appointments and accessing specialist services.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure safeguarding responsibilities are met.
- Participate in an out-of-hours, weekends and bank holiday rota as required.
Requirements
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults within homelessness, housing or social care.
- Strong assessment, support planning and communication skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and working with complex needs.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
