We are looking for a Private Sector Housing Surveyor to join our clients Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) Team. You will play a key role in delivering home adaptations for disabled and vulnerable residents, helping them remain safe and independent in their own homes. This is a hybrid role but could be remote depending on assessment numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out home visits, surveys, and assessments in partnership with Occupational Therapists.
- Prepare specifications, schedules of work, drawings, and design proposals for adaptations.
- Manage adaptation projects from initial survey through to completion.
- Obtain and evaluate contractor quotations and tenders.
- Coordinate planning permissions, building regulations approvals, and party wall matters.
- Monitor works on site, ensuring quality, compliance, and value for money.
- Conduct final inspections and manage defect rectification.
- Maintain accurate records and provide performance data and reports as required.
About You
- Essential Qualification in Building Studies, Construction, Building Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of building construction, building regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Experience or understanding of surveying, contract administration, project management, or housing-related construction work.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, Occupational Therapists, and other stakeholders.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and relevant software packages.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Degree qualification and/or professional membership (RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ARB).
