Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a Waste Development Officer to join a busy Waste Team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for environmental services, sustainability and public engagement who is looking to develop a career within waste management. The role offers exposure to a wide range of waste management activities and the opportunity to work with contractors, local authorities, community groups, schools and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor waste service performance through data analysis, site visits and issue resolution.
- Support public education campaigns and behaviour change initiatives.
- Assist with waste management projects, service improvements and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with contractors, local authority partners and internal teams.
- Support procurement activities and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Attend community events, schools and operational sites across the county as required.
- Contribute to the delivery of high-quality, efficient waste services.
- A-Level, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of environmental, recycling or waste management issues.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good analytical skills with the ability to work with data and digital systems.
- Organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to travel independently across the county, including to remote and operational sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience within waste management, environmental services or a related sector is advantageous but not essential.
