An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Adult Social Care Lawyer to join a busy and supportive legal team within a local authority environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice on adult social care law, including:
  • Care Act 2014
  • Mental Capacity Act 2005 (including Court of Protection, DoLS and Re X applications)
  • Mental Health Act 1983
  • Manage a caseload of complex matters, including judicial review and tribunal proceedings
  • Conduct advocacy and represent the authority in courts and tribunals
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, witness statements, reports and orders
  • Advise officers, members and stakeholders on legal risk and decision-making
  • Support service development and continuous improvement initiatives
