Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm
Contract: Until 1 February 2027

We're recruiting for an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join a busy local authority planning team. This role involves managing a caseload of major planning applications, providing specialist planning advice, engaging with developers, contributing to planning policy, supporting enforcement, and representing the Council where required.
Essential Requirements- RTPI-accredited planning qualification (or equivalent)
- Full RTPI membership (or working towards it)
- Significant Local Authority planning experience
- Experience dealing with major planning applications
- Excellent report writing, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload independently
- 2 years' referencing (all employment gaps verified)
- Photographic ID
- Right to Work in the UK
- Full employment history/CV with all gaps accounted for
