Our client is looking to recruit aWorkshop Supervisor for their vehicle workshop;
Purpose of the Role
Responsible for all operational aspects of the Local Authoritys fleet maintenance function. The postholder will ensure the effective delivery of the fleet maintenance programme within approved budgets, to agreed timescales, and in full compliance with relevant legislation, safety standards and quality requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management

Undertake and supervise the servicing and repair of vehicles, plant and associated equipment to a high standard, ensuring cost-effectiveness and minimal vehicle downtime.

Act as Authorised Examiner Delegated Manager, managing and preparing vehicles for MOT and HGV testing in line with statutory requirements.

Lead and manage all aspects of the municipal fleet maintenance function, including maintenance planning, quality control, equipment maintenance and staff training.

Ensure fleet operations comply with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including goods vehicle operator licensing requirements.

Manage, motivate and develop a team of employees, ensuring skills and capabilities align with service and business needs.

Provide clear direction, coordination and support, addressing recruitment, training, performance management, welfare and disciplinary matters as required.

Lead change effectively, supporting staff through organisational and service developments.

Ensure the fleet maintenance service is delivered within approved budgets and contributes to value for money objectives.

Provide accurate information and reports to support monitoring, forecasting and budget management.

Apply sound financial management principles to all aspects of service delivery.

Assist with and oversee operational health and safety arrangements, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.

Promote staff welfare and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry standards.

Undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and within the scope of the post, as requested by management

Must hold Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification or relevant subjector have commitment to achieve within 12 months
