We are looking for an experienced and motivated Attendance Officer to support schools, children and families in improving school attendance and ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education, attendance, safeguarding or family support who enjoys building positive relationships and making a real difference to young people's lives.
The Role
- Work closely with schools, families and partner agencies to improve school attendance.
- Carry out home visits and attend meetings with parents and carers.
- Support children and young people who are at risk of persistent absence.
- Work independently within statutory guidance using a restorative approach.
- Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality reports.
- Manage a varied caseload while contributing positively to the wider team.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people and families.
- Previous experience supporting school attendance within an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational and report-writing abilities.
- Good IT skills with experience maintaining accurate records and analysing data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the DBS Update Service.
- Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle and business insurance.
- Two professional references.
