Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for a Senior Information Governance Officer (Information Security & Compliance) to support a local authority's Corporate Information Governance Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Information Governance professional with strong knowledge of Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Information Security, Records Management, Information Sharing and GDPR compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the investigation and management of information security incidents and data breaches.
  • Provide advice and guidance on GDPR compliance, Information Security and Data Protection matters.
  • Support the development and review of Information Governance policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
  • Assist with Freedom of Information (FOI), Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs).
  • Develop and review Information Sharing Agreements with partner organisations.
  • Monitor compliance, undertake audits and produce management information reports.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external agencies and members of the public on information governance matters.
Requirements
  • Experience within an Information Governance, Data Protection or Information Security environment.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Freedom of Information legislation
    • UK GDPR and Data Protection legislation
    • Information Security principles
    • Records Management
    • Information Sharing protocols
    • Caldicott Principles
  • Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to statutory deadlines.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience desirable.
