Lynx Employment Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 2 (Category C) Team Leader LGV Driver to join a busy frontline refuse collection team. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and safety-conscious driver who enjoys working outdoors, leading a crew, and delivering an essential public service.
The Role
Working as a Team Leader Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a refuse collection vehicle while leading your crew to ensure waste and recycling collections are completed efficiently across the district. Your duties will include:
- Driving a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle.
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety and maintenance checks.
- Completing all required paperwork and route documentation.
- Leading and supervising the collection crew.
- Collecting household waste, recycling and garden waste.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Reporting vehicle defects, incidents and missed collections.
- Maintaining excellent health and safety standards at all times.
- Liaising with supervisors and depot staff when required.
The successful candidate will receive full induction, health & safety training, shadowing and training on waste reception points before commencing duties.
Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence.
- Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence).
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- Experience driving LGV/Class 2 vehicles.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- A commitment to excellent customer service and health & safety.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake some manual handling.
