We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Planning Policy Officer to support planning policy and housing strategy, with a particular focus on Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) and Section 106 (S106) agreements. You would need to have experience of monitoring and managing CIL and Section 106 processes. A planning qualification is desirable but not essential if you have strong practical experience in this area.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage CIL and Section 106 agreements and associated processes.
- Support the preparation and review of planning policy and housing strategy documents.
- Develop and maintain planning monitoring systems.
- Commission and oversee external evidence base studies.
- Support neighbourhood planning and liaise with key stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and present to committees and meetings.
- Provide planning advice and support to colleagues.
About You
- Proven experience managing CIL and Section 106 processes.
- Experience within planning policy or a local authority planning environment.
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and infrastructure planning.
- Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills.
- Desirable: Planning or built environment qualification.
- RTPI membership or equivalent.
- Experience of Local Plan preparation and planning policy development.
