We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority for an experienced Senior Commissioning Officer to join their Adult Social Care commissioning team, with a specific focus on supported living. This is a project-based role supporting the development of supported living contracts, alongside other commissioning projects as required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in developing service specifications, engaging with providers, and producing clear, robust business cases to support decision-making. The client is looking for someone who can work independently, communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, and produce high-quality written documentation. Strong commissioning experience within a Local Authority Adult Social Care setting is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting supported living contract development
- Developing commissioning specifications and options appraisals
- Engaging with providers and internal stakeholders
- Preparing business cases, reports and supporting documentation
- Contributing to wider Adult Social Care commissioning projects as directed
Essential requirements:
- Proven commissioning experience within a Local Authority
- Strong understanding of Adult Social Care, particularly supported living
- Experience of provider engagement and contract development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage project-based work with minimal supervision
Contract details:
- Start date: 12 January ****
- End date: 14 June ****

Working arrangements:
- This is a hybrid role, ideally requiring one day per week in the office. Remote candidates will be considered due to the project-based nature of the work.
- Occasional travel to Solihull may be required for stakeholder engagement.
- The successful candidate will be required to drive and have access to their own vehicle.
Pay rates:
- PAYE: £***** £***** per hour
- Rates are flexible for the right candidate, ideally within the ranges above.
- Part-time arrangements will also be considered for exceptional candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commissioning professional to contribute to meaningful service development within Adult Social Care on a fixed-term basis.
