Personal Advisor – Children & Families / Leaving Care in Solihull

Location: Chelmsley Wood, Solihull Pay: £18.35 per hour PAYE / £25.03 per hour Umbrella Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Temporary until 25 December 2026 Working: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week in the office Positions: 2 Lynx Employment Services is recruiting two Personal Advisors to support young people and care leavers as they make the transition into independent adult life. This is a varied and rewarding role supporting young people with their Pathway Plans, accommodation, education, finances, health and practical life skills, while providing consistent guidance and advocacy. ### The Role You will: Develop, coordinate and review Pathway Plans for young people leaving care Provide practical advice and support around housing, benefits, budgeting, education, employment and healthcare Maintain regular contact with young people and monitor their progress and wellbeing Help young people develop the skills and confidence needed for independent living Work closely with social workers, housing teams, education providers, health professionals and other agencies Advocate for young people and help them access appropriate services Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns Maintain accurate case notes, contact records and other documentation Build positive, professional and consistent relationships with young people The Council's full specification requires experience working with young people and their families within a social care, education or voluntary setting, together with an understanding of safeguarding and the challenges care leavers may experience as they move towards independence. JDPS Personal Advisor ### About You You should have: Experience supporting young people and/or care leavers Experience contributing to or developing care or Pathway Plans Knowledge of safeguarding children and young people An understanding of the needs of young people transitioning to adulthood Strong communication and relationship-building skills Excellent organisation and case-recording skills Confidence working with other professionals and agencies Good Microsoft Word and Excel skills NVQ Level 3/Diploma for Children and Young People or equivalent qualification JDPS Personal Advisor Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for work, with business insurance required.
