Rate: Β£280 per day

Contract: Temporary

We are currently recruiting for experienced SEN Case Officers (Annual Reviews) to join a Local Authority based in Shrewsbury. This is an excellent opportunity to work fully remotely while supporting the delivery of statutory SEND services.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:45am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:45am – 4:00pm

About the Role:

As an Annual Review Case Officer, you will be responsible for delivering high-volume Annual Review casework, ensuring Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) are reviewed, amended and finalised in line with statutory requirements. You will manage a busy caseload, working closely with schools, parents and professionals to ensure children and young people receive the appropriate support through an efficient and compliant Annual Review process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Amend Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) following Annual Review meetings.
  • Issue amendment notices and final EHCPs within statutory timescales.
  • Manage the full Annual Review process from start to finish, including:
    • Receiving and reviewing Annual Review paperwork.
    • Making decisions to Amend, Maintain or Cease an EHCP.
    • Issuing decision letters.
    • Progressing amendments where required.
  • Manage a high-volume caseload of straightforward Annual Review cases.
  • Prioritise work effectively to meet statutory deadlines, including phase transfers and overdue reviews.
  • Prepare straightforward funding and placement change requests for panel consideration.
  • Upload accurate documentation, recommendations and case records.
  • Liaise with schools, parents, carers and professionals throughout the review process.
  • Ensure all professional advice, reports and updates are obtained and reflected before finalising plans.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Case Officer.
  • Strong knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND Code of Practice, and EHCP Annual Review processes.
  • Experience managing Annual Reviews from receipt of paperwork through to issuing final decisions.
  • A good understanding of statutory timescales and SEND legislation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with schools, parents and multi-agency professionals.
  • Confidence working independently in a fully remote environment.
