Contract until 30/09/2025Shifts: 7:00-10:30, 14:30-19:30, 14:30-22:00

We are recruiting three experienced support workers to join a specialist SEND short break service providing care and meaningful engagement for children and young people with severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and complex needs.

This is a vital, hands-on role supporting individuals through day-to-day activities both in the home and out in the community, and helping them achieve their potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience supporting individuals with SEND (including non-verbal people)

  • Proficient spoken and written English

  • Manual handling, First Aid, and Behaviour Management training (essential)

  • Experience with basic signing (desirable)

  • Commitment to providing care with dignity, empathy, and respect

  • Ability to work flexibly across early morning, afternoon, and evening shifts

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and positive behaviour support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support tailored to individual needs

  • Promote communication, independence, and engagement

  • Implement behaviour support strategies

  • Support with mobility and safe use of equipment

  • Maintain accurate records and care plans

  • Collaborate with families and professionals to deliver consistent care

  • Work in a therapeutic, trauma-informed, and inclusive way
