We're recruiting a skilled LGV Driver to support the safe and efficient collection of waste and recyclables across residential and commercial areas. You will operate a refuse collection vehicle, lead a small crew, and ensure high standards of customer service and safety at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Operate a waste collection vehicle safely and efficiently
- Lead, supervise and allocate duties to waste collection crew members
- Carry out daily vehicle walk-around checks and complete defect reports
- Update service information using the Bartec in-cab system
- Report contamination, missed collections, and service issues
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety, Drivers Hours, and environmental regulations
- Perform outdoor manual handling tasks in all weather conditions
- Record accidents/near misses and conduct dynamic risk assessments
- Support other service areas (e.g., highways) when required
- Category C Licence
- Valid CPC
- Experience in waste operations or specialist vehicle handling
- Physically fit for manual work in all weather
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and support a small crew
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and environmental practices
- Comfortable with basic IT systems (Bartec training provided)
- Standard booking
- Full training and induction provided
- You must be able to work flexibly to meet service needs
