Section Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project

Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire £500 per day PAYE 10 hours per day 2 positions available Contract until 29 January 2027 Lynx Employment Services is looking for two experienced Section Engineers to join a major highways infrastructure project in the Huntingdon area. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced highways and civil engineering professionals looking for a well-paid contract on a significant infrastructure scheme. ## The Role You’ll take responsibility for engineering delivery across your allocated section of works, working closely with site teams, subcontractors and project management to keep works progressing safely, accurately and to programme. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating engineering activities across your section Setting out and surveying Providing technical support to site teams Coordinating Site Engineers and subcontractors Reviewing drawings, designs and technical information Monitoring works against programme Managing engineering and site queries Supporting ITPs, RAMS and quality documentation Maintaining accurate engineering and site records Identifying and resolving technical issues Ensuring works meet required quality and engineering standards Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of the project ## What We’re Looking For We’d particularly like to hear from engineers with: Previous experience as a Section Engineer or a strong Site Engineer ready to step up Experience on highways, civils or major infrastructure projects Strong setting out and surveying experience SMSTS Relevant CSCS card Degree, HND or equivalent Civil Engineering qualification Experience coordinating subcontractors and engineering teams Good understanding of drawings, specifications, ITPs and RAMS Strong communication and problem-solving skills Experience of temporary works, excavation/Permit to Dig, concrete or structural works would be advantageous. ## Why Consider It? £500 per day PAYE – not Umbrella 2 positions available Major infrastructure project Long working days offering strong earning potential Contract running until the end of January 2027 If you’re currently working as a Section Engineer, Senior Site Engineer or experienced Site Engineer within highways or major civils, we’d like to hear from you.
