Chief Officer – Legal & Governance Rugby \| 6\-month contract \| £681\.58 PAYE / £950 Umbrella per day \| 37 hours per week Lynx Employment Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Chief Officer – Legal & Governance to join Rugby Borough Council on a six-month interim basis. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for Legal Services, Democratic Services, Elections, Business Support and Equality & Diversity, as well as acting as the Council’s Monitoring Officer. You’ll provide senior legal, governance and strategic advice across the organisation, working closely with the Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team and elected Members. ### The role The successful candidate will: Lead and provide advice on complex legal, governance and democratic matters Act as the Council’s Monitoring Officer, overseeing corporate governance and compliance Lead democratic processes, including elections, scrutiny and Council/Committee meetings Provide advice and guidance to elected Members and officers Lead and develop teams across Legal, Democratic Services, Elections, Business Support and Equality & Diversity Support corporate transformation and service improvement Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Provide leadership around equality, diversity and the Council's Public Sector Equality Duty Manage budgets, resources and the overall performance of the services within the portfolio ### About you We’re looking for a senior legal professional with a strong track record of working at strategic level within a complex organisation.
