Pay: £20.72 per hour PAYE Holiday Pay

Contract: 20 July 2026 - 30 October 2026

Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday or 4-day week available)

Working Hours: 7:30am - 5:15pm

Lynx Employment Services are recruiting for an experienced Street Scene Manager to join a busy local authority team in Doncaster. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager with a background in street cleansing, grounds maintenance and environmental services to lead operational teams and ensure high-quality frontline services are delivered across the borough.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Street Scene operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently, safely and in line with agreed service standards and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily delivery of street cleansing and grounds maintenance services.
  • Lead and motivate operational teams, setting performance expectations and monitoring productivity.
  • Plan, coordinate and deploy staff, vehicles and equipment to meet operational priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, environmental regulations and council policies.
  • Monitor operational budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Investigate and respond to customer enquiries, complaints and service requests.
  • Produce reports and maintain accurate operational records using digital systems.
  • Build positive relationships with councillors, contractors, community groups and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous service improvement and maintain high customer service standards.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing Street Scene, Grounds Maintenance, Street Cleansing or Environmental Services within a local authority.
  • Experience leading and supervising operational teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and environmental compliance.
  • Experience managing operational resources including staff, vehicles and equipment.
  • Budget monitoring and financial awareness.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Competent IT skills with experience using digital scheduling and reporting systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
