Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Repairs & Maintenance Surveying Officer to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake inspections following repair requests, diagnose issues, and specify required works.
- Order and monitor repairs to ensure timely and high-quality completion.
- Carry out joint inspections with Neighbourhood Officers, providing guidance on maintenance matters.
- Assess tenant improvements and advise on alteration requests.
- Liaise with in-house contractors and specialist subcontractors to ensure satisfactory outcomes.
- Conduct stock condition and dilapidation surveys.
- Produce detailed reports identifying repair and investment needs, with recommendations for senior management.
- Manage a varied workload, prioritising tasks effectively.
- Maintain strong working relationships with contractors, agencies, and customers while delivering excellent customer service.
Requirements:
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, ONC, or equivalent in building construction/surveying).
- Have significant practical experience in a building construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of construction health & safety, including CDM Regulations, asbestos awareness, building and planning regulations, and site practices.
- Proven experience surveying domestic and non-domestic properties and diagnosing defects.
- Skilled in preparing schedules of work and specifications.
- Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
