Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour PAYE

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Contract: 6-Month Temporary Assignment

DBS Requirement: Basic DBS Required

Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence and DVLA Check Required

We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Officer to support a local authority property team undertaking inspections and condition surveys across a range of external assets including garages, roads, forecourts, paved areas, brickwork and general street scene infrastructure. This role combines site-based inspections with office-based reporting and would suit candidates with experience in property maintenance, building surveying, inspections, estates maintenance or construction-related environments.

  • Carry out condition inspections of garages, roads, forecourts and associated external assets
  • Identify defects, dilapidations and maintenance requirements
  • Undertake surveys using appropriate inspection and surveying techniques
  • Produce accurate Schedules of Condition and inspection reports
  • Prepare spreadsheets and maintenance records to support future works programmes
  • Assess asset condition and provide recommendations for repair or maintenance
  • Work independently whilst conducting site inspections
  • Ensure inspections are completed in accordance with health and safety requirements

Qualifications:

  • HNC or HND in Building Studies, Construction, Surveying or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience (typically 10+ years)
  • Experience carrying out property, building or condition inspections
  • Understanding of surveying techniques and inspection processes
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel and reporting systems
  • Full UK driving licence
